After turning in their part 4 annotations, students spent the next 15 minutes finishing up their Sanders essays from last week. We reviewed the scoring guidelines and some sample essays from when this prompt was on the test in 2007, and then students scored their own essays as well as a partner’s. At the end of class, I introduced a second preparatory assignment for students to work on before digging into the independent novel essay later this week. Homework: work some on this novel essay assignment in Google Classroom; there will be some more time to work on it on Wednesday, and it is due at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday night.
